Description 

The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to seek information from stakeholders such as industry, academia, nonprofits and research institutions about Research and Development (R&D) activities that could find application in the area of enhanced emissions reduction, removal, or beneficial utilization. Information that may assist in formulating strategies for the reduction of hazardous materials and/or waste streams, including approaches involving containment and/or isolation, is sought. Waste streams of interest include those affecting air, water, and solid waste (by-product) disposal areas. DOE is also interested in learning about technological strategies to improve management of coal ash ponds, such as by-product management facilities, ponds and landfills. Note: This is solely a request for information and is not a Funding Opportunity Announcement. The Department of Energy is not accepting applications to this Request for Information.
